    What Is Fascia Stretch Therapy?

Fascia Stretch Therapy is assisted stretching done on a treatment table. The practitioner moves the client through gentle, pain-free stretches that work the fascia and the joint capsules, not just individual muscles. The client stays fully clothed. No oil is used.

FST was developed in 1995 by Ann and Chris Frederick, founders of the Stretch to Win® Institute, and it is taught in Canada by Stretch to Win® Canada. Level 1 is a five-day, in-person certification. You leave able to give a full 60-minute FST session the week you get back.

    • Gentle traction, not force.

FST uses movement, traction and breathing. Nothing is pushed past what the client's body allows.

    • Your body weight does the work.

Full-body leverage instead of thumbs, wrists and forearms. That is why so many massage therapists take it.

    • Joint capsules, not just muscles.

FST reaches the joint capsule, where hands-on work cannot go, and clients feel the difference in mobility right away.

    For Registered Massage Therapists

FST uses full-body leverage instead of your hands and forearms, so you keep working for decades.

    • Inside your scope of practice.

Stretching is within RMT scope of practice, and no extra credentialing is needed.

    • Bills the way massage does.

Insurance covers the massage and you decide which modality to use. Offer FST the way you offer massage: 60, 75 or 90 minute sessions, full FST or a blend.

    • Continuing education credits.

FST Level 1 is approved for continuing education credits by most professional associations, and the list keeps growing. Check with your own association or college before you register. We will supply whatever documentation they ask for.

"After just 5 years as a massage therapist my hands and wrists became problematic, and I thought I would have to change careers again. Now that half of my schedule are FST sessions, I can see myself doing this for many many years."
    Linda, 41, RMT

    Inside the Five-Day Certification

This is not a weekend workshop. Here is what happens before, during and after your week with us.

    Before you arrive

A pre-course video library. Ann and Chris Frederick, who created FST, demonstrate the key moves on a skeleton and on real bodies. Complete it at least one week before your course.

    During the week

Large-group demos first, then small groups at a 1:6 instructor to student ratio, rotating all week so you work with every instructor. Instructors do not just watch your hands. They feel your hands, again and again, and you feel theirs. That is how you leave competent, not just certified. Tables, straps, cushions and workbooks are all there when you arrive.

    After

A post-course video library, our online community, free webinars, and a check-in from our team through the year.

Mon 9 to 6Day 1. Foundations and lower body.

Core FST principles, table mechanics, and the first lower body sequences including the hip capsule.

Tue 9 to 6Day 2. Advanced lower body and core.

Deeper lower body work, then the fascial lines that connect the lower and upper body.

Wed 9 to 6Day 3. Upper body and shoulders.

The shoulder capsule, neck and arms.

Thu 9 to 6Day 4. Full body integration.

Assess and treat the whole fascial net dynamically.

Fri 8 to 5Day 5. Practicum and graduation.

You give and receive a full 60-minute session. We film yours and share the clips for your own marketing. A short business segment, then graduation.

    Who It Is For

Most of the practitioners in our courses are Registered Massage Therapists. The rest are personal trainers, kinesiologists, physiotherapists, athletic therapists and clinic owners. They come for different reasons and leave with the same skill.

    • Massage therapists.

Add a dimension to the practice you have already built. Offer it alongside massage or on its own.

    • Personal trainers.

Offer a service clients pay $100 to $150 a session for. Help them with mobility and recovery and stand apart from every other trainer at your gym.

    • Clinic owners.

Train your team in a modality that works on any treatment table and fits your existing booking and billing.

    • Kinesiologists, physios and rehab specialists.

Ninety evidence-based techniques for fascia and joint capsule work. No prior FST experience required.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bill FST through insurance as an RMT?

Yes. Stretching is a modality under the scope of practice for Registered Massage Therapists. Insurance covers the massage and you decide which modality to use. Offer FST the way you offer massage: 60, 75 or 90 minute sessions, full FST or a blend. No extra credentialing.

    Do I need prior experience?

No prior FST experience is required for Level 1. The course is built for massage therapists, personal trainers, kinesiologists, physiotherapists and other bodyworkers. Basic anatomy helps but is not required.

Can I take the course online?

No. FST is a hands-on skill and it needs in-person practice partners. The pre-course video library is online, so you arrive already familiar with the material. The five days are the hands-on half.

What is the difference between FST and regular stretching?

Traditional stretching isolates muscles with static holds. FST uses dynamic, pain-free movement with gentle traction and oscillation to work fascia and joint capsules. It uses full-body leverage, which is far easier on the practitioner's body than deep tissue work.

    What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel in writing 30 or more days before your course for a refund minus a $50 administrative fee. No refunds or credits after that.

Pay in full, or three payments over three months. Choose at checkout. All prices are plus tax.

Up to 24 students with 4 instructors at a 1:6 instructor to student ratio. Instructors feel your hands throughout the week, so you leave competent.

    What is the daily schedule?

Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm. Friday 8am to 5pm.

    Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes. Follow our process and if you have not earned your tuition back within six months, we refund the difference. Most graduates charge $100 to $150 per session and recover their investment within three to six months.

    What does FST stand for?

Fascia Stretch Therapy. An assisted stretching system created by the Stretch to Win® Institute that works the body's fascia and joint capsules rather than isolating individual muscles.
